How long do water heaters last?

This comes as a surprise to many people, but heating water accounts for about 20% of most households’ energy usage. Your water heater is constantly in use. So if you’ve had it for more than 10 years, it is probably a good time to start considering an upgrade. (Most warranties are valid for five to seven years.) The latest energy-efficient water heaters cost less to run and use much less energy than older models.

Ideally, you’ll replace your water heater before you have to. If you run into a situation where your water heater shuts down unexpectedly and you are rushed into purchasing a new one, you may not get the best possible option. When you’re ready to upgrade, contact the helpful team at Brideau and we’ll guide you through.

Tankless water heaters

If you enjoy endless on-demand hot water—and who doesn’t?—a tankless water heater might be in order! With a tankless unit, you can run the dishwasher while you do the laundry, and you don’t have to wait for the water to warm up after someone else showers! Smaller than conventional models, tankless water heaters are also more energy-efficient, as they only heat the water as needed.
